Ch. 13 Aravis’s black stage is being passive and reflecting on her actions. Her back burns from the scratches. She is sore and has to rest in order to heal. Her white stage starts with getting her wounds washed and dressed. She drinks water and eats porridge and cream. She watches the battle in the pool which is cloudy water. Her red stage begins when she sees Aslan (red lion) against the green wall (like the flag).

She still acts prideful in the presence of Shasta (Mercury).

Ch. 10 The hermit’s home is round because it is a crucible for Aravis (where she meets Aslan). The second half of the seven stages is active for Shasta but passive for Aravis. She thinks she is lucky to have escaped the lion (Mercury). During her downtime, she feels sorry for being a jerk to Shasta (humility). Ch. 11-12 is about Shasta’s conjunction.

Lasaraleen warns her that Narnia is a land of snow and ice (white). It has sorcerors (magic is under Hecate -- Moon). Lasaraleen thinks Aravis is mad (Moon). Aravis is glad to sleep with pillows and sheets (white). Her pride is lessening. She prefers Shasta to Lasaraleen. She realizes she will be a nobody in Narnia. She leaves her armor behind and dresses like a slave girl with a veil (Mercury). ID change (slave).

Aravis takes a bath (white). She goes mad with Lasaraleen’s obsession over clothes (Moon). Aravis was always more interested in bows, arrows, horses, dogs, and hunter. Hello....Artemis which sort of rhymes with Aravis. Their meal included whipped cream (white). Her intended has ropes of pearls and ass milk baths (white). She is going to make her escape by water at night but Shasta escaped on a hot day (Moon).

Ch. 7 The quarreling couple has a belly and head and their union makes the chest. Aravis is clearly the head. After Shasta was nabbed, Aravis “never lost her head” (head). After Lasaraleen recognizes, Aravis makes a quick plan and uses her eloquence to convince her friend to help (head and Mercury). She tells her friend to hurry (Mercury). Lasaraleen is a bit of an airhead and Aravis keeps her on her toes (Mercury).

She comments on soldiers with spears snapping to attention if they saw her (Mercury). The statues of Gods and heroes goes with grammar (Mercury).
Aravis is not in Ch. 5-6. Her black stage is obvious. She is so depressed she wants to kill herself. She die. After Hwin speaks to her, she decides to runawy, which means she is throwing away her identity as a Tarkheena. Her old self has to die, but pride remains.

I don’t know if I mentioned it earlier. Aravis’s armor is divided to put into bundles (Mercury). Aravis has to wear a disguise (Mercury). Stealing doesn’t bother Aravis (Mercury). Her scimitar is shaped like a crescent (Moon).

Ch. 4 The dome of the capital of her homeland is silver-plated (Moon). The horns (like hunting horns) blow (Moon). Her bearing is proud, Bree corrects her, she has a snarky comeback (Mercury).

Hold on! The sun has a corona which means crown. Could Cor’s name come from corona? WHAT?????

In the first quarrel, Aravis is never at a loss for words. She is witty and responds quickly. Her storytelling shows that she is eloquent. All Mercury. Aravis and Bree have long conversations. Her flaw is pride. Because of her lineage, she snubs Shasta and didn’t care about the maid being whipped. She is cold (Moon).

Ch. 3 Storytelling belongs to grammar in the trivium and what does Aravis do? Tell a story (Mercury). She starts of with her lineage and connections to high rank (Mercury). Her mother and brother are dead (Underworld - the Moon and Hecate). When is the sun dark in one’s eyes? At night (Moon). She is being forced into marriage and that makes her passive. Her father sent messengers to her match (Mercury).

The white queen is Mercury, but is also linked to the Moon, silver, passive, female. Obviously, Avaris is female. CHECK. We are already seeing links to the moon and silver. Being dressed in her brother’s armor is an identity change and she could be seen as his twin (Mercury). Wearing armor points to heraldry (Mercury). Grabbing her sword shows she is ready to fight (Mercury).

Ch. 2 The first physical description of Aravis is that she’s clad in mail (which is silver) that shone in the moon. THE MOON! The moon connects to the sea because of tides. Her black phase has already happened, so this is the white stage for Aravis and Shasta. Shasta said, “I’m dreaming,” which is the moon. They are quarreling from the very beginning. The moon is linked to wandering which is what Aravis is doing.
