Made me laugh a few times

Better than the other book but OMG, the nutbag christian mother!!!

...“Mum, I thought you were at a church meeting today,” I said. “Didn’t you say it was a healing service or something?”
Mum nodded. “Yes, but it was canceled.”
“Why?” I asked automatically.
Mum folded her arms. “A visiting pastor was going to take the healing service, but he had to cancel because he was sick.”...

Opens: “The wages of sin is death!” I jumped when I heard the words that made up the blaring ringtone of my mother’s cell phone. Sure, we were outside a chapel, so it was an appropriate setting for such words, I suppose, but it was my father’s funeral after all.

it is insane how the mom in this book reminds me of my own mother just without the church going part. But all the times she calls her daughter an ungrateful brat or goes against her daughter's wishes for the daughter's business that her dad left her instead of to the mother. I feel like I am the main character bc of these reasons. Otherwise pretty sweet she can see and have conversations with the dead. so far 3 stars
