Not sure on this one. Feels a little like it's going through a list of certain situations ie, living in a home where there domestic violence, being gay/lesbian, school hierarchy, etc.

Why do I feel Anne could be leaving one bad situation yet heading towards another potentially awkward one? What has happened between her mum & dad?

Read just the prologue and the first chapter and already more curious about the direction the book is going to go in. Already feeling the tendrils of control that John has entwined around Martinique.
