[Frederick Douglass]declarou q não se sentia diminuído pelo rótulo de «homem dos direitos das mulheres»(.)É possível q a[sua] atitude tenha sido motivada por saber q as brancas tinham sido apelidadas de «amantes de pretos» numa tentativa de as convencer a desistirem da campanha abolicionista.E ele sabia q as mulheres eram indispensáveis no seio do movimento, tanto pelo seu grande número como pela «sua competência...»

After reading the two first chapters I can already tell that this book is 5 stars. Family heirloom. Will be passed down.
