Status Updates From When the Elves are Gone

#SPFBO5 read: I actually quite like this book. It is really dark, reminds me a lot of Terry Brooks minus the easy escapes and predictable plot. I just wish it would pick up a little because I can sense that all hell is about to break loose at any moment but it feels like it's taking forever for that to happen.

#SPFBO5 read: What a solid fantasy book this is. I will also say that the subject matter is absolutely heartbreaking, yet I keep wanting to read further. Dealing a lot with loss and persecution, it's definitely not an easy read, but it is so compelling. I really misjudged this at first but as it goes on it just gets better and better.

#SPFBO5 read: This book is totally not what I expected. I know they say you can't judge a book by its cover, but this one in particular caused me to expect a light and fluffy d&d fantasy. And what I'm getting is a gritty, dark, anything but fantasy story. Don't know if it will continue but this book has peaked my interest that's for sure.
