As a native New Mexican, I can't believe how insane this entire ordeal was. It's difficult to put this book down but it's also depressing to know how corrupt things were and to see how terrible the guards were treated. It's haunting to know that they become merely pawns in a negotiation. Disgusting.

This is truly terrifying. In a few days it will be 45 years since this happened. The warning signs were all there that something evil was going to happen. This is the stuff of nightmares.
