Commands we take for granted but should know more about. 3 triggers to sleep/shut down-how to change them.
1. Change what closing the lid does. When the machine is plugged and when it's running on battery poser.
2. Using the Search Box in the Taskbar. Can search for files, folders, email messages, address book, calendar appointments, pictures, movies, PDF documents, and music files,
3. File Explorer?

Helpful website: www.missingmanuals.com Missing CD-ROM link - and then this book's title- to reveal a tidy, chapter-by-chapter of the shareware and freeware mentioned in this book. The Web site also offers corrections and updates. To see the, click the book's title. and click View/Submit Errata.

I have Cortana, but find it annoying to use. Sometimes it opens up a big box that hides half my screen. I haven't figured out how to get rid of it yet! I did have Dell change my settings. I wanted right-hand use of my pad for doing everything. Not the left side of the pad. I need to learn how to highlight, copy, cut, and paste. Still haven't figured that out yet- after 5 years.

The beginning of the book is helpful. I have learned a few things that I should have already known after using windows for 20 years. I have Microsoft Edge now and having issues with commands, finding things, etc.

I am hoping this publication will help me out with some of the things I need to know and learn about my Dell Laptop which has updated to Microsoft Edge. The library doesn't have a book about that, as far as I know. It may help me with some basics that might not have changed from Microsoft 10.
