Section on Hermeticism and Gnosticism was great

The chapter on Parmenides and Empedocles is FASCINATING so much more interesting than I was expecting… and the knowledge of how their work was butchered by the later Plato and other philosophers adds a level of mystique if not faith in the concept of Prisca sapienta

I can already tell from reading three sections, the introduction and the suggested further readings page that this is an excellent introductory book. Mysticism and esotericism together are such a fascinating corner of the humanities that is so profoundly important to humanity… can’t wait to continue with this book.
