Alot of the shit in this book could have been avoided if Brook wasn't an idiot. Someone in your company is embezzling money and you have all the evidence but you want to wait to call the police then act shock when said person actually steals it. And then you take the word of the man when you KNOW he's a liar and thief.....Declan deserves a better woman than Brook.
