I am reading this for my graduate program, but I am actually enjoying this text. I'm getting some new insights and thinking of ways to incorporate some of this information into my Freshmen and Sophomore classes.

Ch.6 The World Before The Text (pp.157-179) - Interpretation as both a process and a product, and what makes a valid interpretation. The World before the text (in front of) is the world that the text creates. We then appropriate that for ourselves. We pass from the first naïveté through critical engagement to the second naïveté, then what we appropriate becomes its meaning for us.
