Ok going to give this series a try again, this time as an audiobook. Last time I read it was over 10 yrs ago and stopped after book 2 or 3 I think. Eek.

The Gunslinger attends a sermon, where a woman preaches fear of an interloper. It seems evangelical & fear based. The next day GS visits her & finds out that the MIB was there. She tells GS that he will never catch MIB, & that she was pregnant. GS gets her to tell him what is beyond the desert. GS prepares to leave town but townies surround him with weapons at the bar. Allie wishes for death after hearing 19.

The Gunslinger is following the man in black through the desert. He encounters a bar in a small trip eastern town. He finds out an addict has been resuscitated. The bar owner is terrified bc the man in black left her a note saying if she says 19 to the addict, she will lose her mind. She sleeps & feeds the gunllslinger. He has been in town a few days to give his donkey a break. He is worried about any traps MIB left.

Idk about this one man. “It spoke of blacks and whites. It spoke of a man who might straighten bad pictures in strange hotel rooms.
