Status Updates From Robinson Crusoe

Endelig dukket Fredag opp, og boken avslører at han er en karib "nasjon" (urfolk stamme) som bodde mellom Nord-Colombia til Ceará, det vil si, i det nordlige Sør-Amerika. Hovedpersonen beskriver ham veldig godt, og trekker et skille mellom ham og tupiene, som om tupiene var mørkere, mer fjernt fra den europeiske formen. Jeg syntes at han ga tips om homofili.

The most covetous, griping miser in the world would have been cured of the vice of covetousness if he had been in my case; for I possessed infinitely more than I knew what to do with. [...]

Crusoe: I’m loathe to sell "my boy” into slavery because it's wrong, and he secured my freedom. On the other hand, they’ll give me 60 pieces of silver, and promise to free him in 10 years if he converts to Christianity. What a moral quandary! Hmm.

Crusoe after becoming a landowner with the profits: Wish I hadn’t sold that guy into bondage because I could really use some extra slave labour for my plantation rn :(
