i'm so sorry to this book and it's very charming lesbian MC csorwe but there's something that just utterly fails to keep me hooked and i'm SO close to dnf'ing. why has every paperback i've read for the past three months done this to me 😭

This is good. This is FUN. I just want to sit down and read it but 1. It's Silly Season 2. It reminds me a LOT of old OCs and I keep getting distracted thinking about them, both a good and bad thing lmfao

First book I'm picking up on the recommendation of my new fave podcast, Wizards vs Lesbians 👀

I’m not dissing on the book when I say this, but I don’t think this is for me.

It’s not bad, the characters and story are sort of intriguing, but it’s just not reeling me in. Im a little bit bored and I feel like anything could happen and it would have no emotional repercussions on me.

Part of me wants to continue and see if that changes, but I really don’t feel like continuing.

"The barge slipped from its berth and away into the night: a narrow retreating shape, and then just the point of the lantern, winking and vanishing against the glittering sky." Gives me Ninefox Gambit vibes at this point. Also, I adore the visions it conjures of interstellar travel. Much preferred to a gritty, "realist" dystopia aesthetic.
