A boycott of bus services led to the dissolution of disqualifying black people from being recruited into the bus industry. That’s wonderful. People working together to create meaningful changes. The act of collective peaceful resistance worked.

If done today or future, anyone indignant would leave using their white privilege for good. The race relations board created to hear complaints but existed for posturing purposes. Acts of discrimination under the race relations act 1965 was said to include an unreasonable delay in serving someone, overcharging, etc. Last year, a staff at a fish + chips shop made fun of me for lip reading, instead of being discouraged from disability discrimination, this year, they were made to overcharge me as retaliation from others. She was smiling so much. That’s both race + disability discrimination.

At any time, due to retaliation, inability to address own racism, peoples citizenship + movement can be affected even if you’re born here. It’s just as much ours as theirs. We’re supposed to be protected, especially the sick + disabled, not weaken or justify absence of protections. Equality Act 2010 was made for us.

In Notting Hill, 1958, white people were arrested (not unequal in that sense) for racist attacks. But it was downplayed as ‘hooliganism’ by both parties and the original source ignored. This continues today in news publications, some which are noted for their lack of impartiality. My Prophet (SAWS), I feel, would have noted the source to be able to address the underlying issue to cultivate good race relations.

This passage makes me think how if I was white, maybe something would have been done about me being raped. It is known it happened by those who can do something but encouraged rapist to ‘clean up mess’ + perjwos wipes were perhaps an allusion (25) to his girl, I’m fearing retaliation. This is not the way to talk about anyone ever.

Last year, I said rickety on socials. In ballad for Sophie it mentioned tuberculosis. Cold emoji likes on socials. On this page it says rickety, tuberculosis, cold + ‘frozen shoulders’ elsewhere, Adrienne. Black white, mixed. Retaliation for making them look ‘bad’ using nhs to commit medical crimes. So messed up. Saying harming disabled person to save other disabled people, erm, EQUALITY ACT.

Not informing people of their rights and processes feels a little like racism, the negligence involved, even if it’s from a non white person, probably wouldn’t have dared to be done to a white person who’s asking, maybe they’d behave much differently.

Liverpudlians had publicly and violently lynched a black person in 1919. This stuff makes me so angry.

Why did they strip a woman for being with a black man. To this day, they have no regard for privacy or the body through surveillance +/voyeurism. Forcibly altering sexes retaliation, to Muslim woman, or more, which is hate and religious discrimination, usurping rights of the Creator to make it ‘acceptable’. Nothing halal about surveillance, invading bodily privacy and rights, mocking “never fully dressed’.

Indian sepoys were told if they fought in the First World War they would be fighting for India’s freedom. Even the highest ranking sepoy ranked lower than the lowest ranking white soldier. Their stay at the hospital, segregated, was surrounded by barbed wire so they couldn’t mixed with locals. 74,000 sepoys died fighting in the war, but they were not granted freedom. That’s treachery.

So gross when white people disenfranchise someone when there was a chance/chances not to and essentially make a non white person a modern slave. Please if you are ever in positions of power do not hand of your own people from your own community to such people, do not choose your own gain, ambition, desire or whatever at the expense of vulnerable people in your own community. That’s basically murder.

In northanger abbey, Catherine talks about how central England + England as a whole would never murder because it’s a Christian country, but it was written in 1790’s + the slave trade was going on in Britain since 1562 + Liverpool was the biggest slave port. I would say cognitive dissonance or integrity didn’t extend to their treatment of black people. Either that or it’s rewriting history.

“Whether racism was discrimination or discrimination plus power, being in the position to negatively affect other people’s life chances”. You come across some white people in such positions who can fatally harm you, you feel something is wrong, trust me, just get out.

People of colour, non white, I don’t really personally adhere to the semantic part for this terminology. I remember a few months ago someone tried to, definitely a paid post, say the word disabled is bad which is a reach, but the whole point is that disabled people are referred to as disabled, it gets the most reach so trying to assign another term is to try + limit reach. It was obviously illogical + manipulation.

She talks about how ‘nice white people’ are used as shields, which you do see ‘what about this person? If you speak, this nice white person could’, but they are just shields, instead of just listening + making changes.

She talks about how if she speaks, she faces consequences, painted with racist tropes that threaten their safety (for Muslim equivalent, it’s other tropes that we could be subjected to then which are basically, well, phobic) + they use their influence, ability + others to rewrite history + make lies the truth.. I would say because they can, but ultimately dua of the oppressed + eventually God intervenes

I remember reading part 1 of a book series (part 2 + 3 of the series was missing on shelves) but it said peacefully resist (march) no matter what you’re subjected to. They were a community together. One overpowered + oppressed is different. Someone was pressured to tell me to get on the white side, but my Prophet (SAWS) says no race is superior. People pick + choose what to apply to others what benefits them.

Never had to think about.. I think there’s been far too much history in general that we learn in school to know there is ‘unconscious bias’ prevalent hence history wouldn’t have happened.

Gonna reread this, see how I feel now because I read it so long ago and opinions change or adapt, we’ll see.
