she finds a kid that she goes to school with very attractive
writes letter to family no answer
just turned 21
gose to visit family
feels trapped and stuck when in school/ cant wait to get out

basically she is still mailing letters back and fourth fitz and talks about how depressing and trapped she feels being stuck in that town

She is pushing her boyfriend that was taken by the Nazis away, he is now having feelings for another girl and is not trying to hide it. She keeps telling him and his brother to find a way to escape
