Needed to update this on Goodreads. I miss Ephraim a lot but the YES & NO section is going really hard. The brothers talk (sign? dictate? planchetize? what's the right ouija board verb?) about God Biology like they're cultural anthropologists talking about whale funerary songs.

Not gonna finish before I have to return this inter-library-loan. Will have to resume at this page at a later date.

If anyone wants to try it, I recommend taking it as nonsense verse like say Lewis Carroll's Jabberwocky? So there is meaning but it can also just be enjoyed as a piece if you let the words flow over you without analysing or dissecting too much (this is what I did).
It kind of falls of in the 75-90% mark but for sheer ambition, it deserves credit.

A 500+ page poem written in free verse. One interesting thing is that large parts of it are transcriptions from séances conducted by the poet using an Ouija board. Famous personalities including historical figures - kings, politicians, authors, artists are referenced and their works are also alluded to. The other interesting thing is that this poem has a definite rhythm despite being written in free flowing verse.

We pause at the beginning of Mirabell book 4, so far we have discussed all kinds of things with numerically-designated spiritual guides, including an alchemy of the subject that bears within it a kind of vile essentialism. It's an adventure to say the least

Got past the Book of Ephraim, now for something entirely different before I return for Mirabell's Book of Numbers
