Chapter 3 and first half of chapter 4 step back from venture capitalism and give more grounded examples of the give and take philosophy. One interesting (but somewhat unsurprising) tidbit is the idea that when giving a gift, many people strive for uniqueness. BUT, most gift receivers would be as if not more happy receiving a gift they requested. Will be keeping this in mind for upcoming wedding registries!

While a lot of the examples are based on Silicon Valley tech startups, a pretty far realm from Michigan Government work, chapter two introduces the concept of the “five minute favor”. If doing a favor for someone would take less than five minutes, don’t think too hard on it. Just do it.
