Status Updates From Lonely Planet Eat Japan

obsessed with this book already. Hoping to learn some about culture history and a few food spots for upcoming trip. I was hooked from the first sentence. The writing is beautiful and poetic at times, and I appreciate the exquisite timing of some English words I’ve had to look up:

august (lowercase) - respected, dignified, majestic
Paucity - a small, insufficient, or meager amount/number of something

I know I won’t eat most of the traditional food being mentioned since I’m veggie but it’s interesting to learn about it.
