“Once again things did not go smoothly” is such an earnest way to describe these situations- I think it’s interesting / fun / scary to read about Theranos in such serious terms because it’s actually all sort of funny and absurd. Like YEAH this isn’t going to work you spent all night trying to fix it in a hotel in Switzerland taking your own blood like when can we stop assuming it ever WILL go smoothly huh!!

I started reading and had a hard time stopping. There are a lot of people making serious mistakes. It's bewildering how out of control the whole situation became, and yet it didn't fall apart right from the beginning. Lots of food for thought here.
