Questions I have for book club: surely this is not the healthiest depiction of exploration of sexuality and kink.

Is this a genuine fantasy or more of an in depth fictional recreation of how Hook ups and cruising used to work.

I’m not entirely a fan, I understand that this is somewhat of a memoir, but it feels very heavy on the metaphors and similes. I don’t think it’s highly accurate but then again I was not alive in the 70s. Not really my favourite era. It’s supposed to be about a dominant and submissive, gay relationship, and I suppose there are parts of it that resonate with me, but I guess I’m not at the good part yet.

Reading for book club but I already am not invested in the storyline and the way it is written.
