I am alive and still reading books but you see I had COVID and then I had to spend every waking moment replaying Mass Effect so understandably progress has been slow

Going at this one at a snail’s pace with bedtime reading.

About a third of the way in the story shifted - huge time jumps and also the dialogue turned more... anime? It's stilted and there's weird phrases. Though maybe that's supposed to convey how neither protag are talking in their native tongue. (Re: letter dictation, doesn't hold water). The characters also feature weird behavior. I don't know how I feel about this.
