Wow this dialogue is atrocious. I just can’t. DNF.

I’m really not convinced these characters are in love. In lust, 100%. There’s not been a single interaction between them that hasn’t centered around sex. It’s a fun, indulgent read, though I really don’t like Blaine. He’s pretty much as selfish as the other guy, but just disguises it as concern for Killian. Chemistry is not there when the only thoughts they have for each other are about sex.

It’s not a perfect book. There’s not a lot of tension since we don’t see much of the witches’ world or a build up of risk and stakes for the character’s choices, but it’s a fun self indulgent smut romance with magic as an excuse for the plot. Some of the character’s inner thoughts are repetitive and the sexual tension escalated way too quickly, but I’m having fun just going along with it.

I am a bit lost....nothing has really been figured out yet. So I can't wait for things to start being uncovered. Also, I love Al!! I am a sucker for cats. Also, Kirt Graves is seriously one of my favorite narrators.

They really do a shit job of setting up the world. I still have no idea what exactly witches can do besides some telekinesis and conjuration.
Also what does it mean that witches are getting less powerful? How does a more limited power manifest? Move smaller objects, conjure only less complicated stuff, or just tire out faster? I'm not for telling over showing, but some baseline would be nice.

Didn't Lavender say she has a hard time gauging people's power, including her own? How exactly would she know if her power is lessened without asking anyone then?

a) Killian is really blind in this chapter
b) Why the hell did he not get out of there? He's t he most powerful witch, can't he do something that does not hurt Moran, if he's so squeamish about that (though I feel he should not be)? Remove the cane, e.x. The book hasn't been very clear on what witches can actually do, but destroying objects has been shown.
