This is a short-story prequel so I'm very curious how a murder mystery will fit

A bit brief, but generally I liked it. More details would have been nice though. I didn't like finding out that Rafe likes Lucy because she looks like his dead wife though. That gives me the ick.. Also, it's never answered whether they are relatives. I wonder if the series itself addresses that.
