- that's the strongest beginning of any book I've read this year, but this kinda was to be expected.

So far my favorite of Tanith Lee

Finished. That have been the most depressing ending to a novel I have ever read. Lee really brought the grimdark and the depression with this one. I just...wow. I feel eviscerated.

Has finally found a man who will treat her right? I hope so, because when Lee describes a man's erection that beautifully you know he's gotta be important.

Lee going straight for the jugular. Vivia is now prostituting herself so she and Zulgaris can survive in Syr. She seems to enjoy it, even and is finally indulging her sexuality on her own terms.
