This book writes science as science *journalism* & science *communication* rather than as lecture material to be memorized. This is a distinction of presentation that is becoming more common now, but is rarely so well done as this. I am VERY impressed with the clear and succinct articulation, the ability to appeal to and not shirk from emotional and sensory capacities of readers, and the breadth of material coverage
