Did those blooms know there wasn’t a heaven for them? They’d wither away and die like the rest of us.

I hated that it had come to that. I hated that it was being played out like this at all.
Sometimes, you had no choice. Sometimes, you had to do what you had to do. That’s just the way it was.

I knew Johnny running was to get that energy out, that aggression, the nervous rage he had inside. I knew it was all part of trauma, people working through things in their own way.

I shut that fear down as I kissed her. I swallowed anything else she had to say, my hold on her neck bruising as my passion and frustration rose. My mouth was punishing as I claimed her.

Then again, most people had no idea about the monsters that lurked in the dark. Their lives were too privileged, too cushioned to face the demons that were hiding in plain sight.

I knew from experience that dealing with people was a fucking headache of epic proportions. I could only imagine that grew exponentially worse when you dealt with people in the food industry.

I am up to chapter 19 and I have got to say I am loving this book Jordan. I love getting multiple POV'S and how flawed and intense the characters are. They draw you into the story and their lives. Above all it keeps you guessing on the killer so far. Characters are relatable. Loving it. Two thumbs up so far. Awesome.
