Status Updates From Fidele

Interesting; can't decide if I like it but feeling grotty so focus off.

The scene has been set, the atmosphere established, the supernatural elements are in play, and the air is practically vibrating from the foreshadowing of dire secrets waiting to be revealed. Now it's time for the rubber to meet the road. In other words -- no more dawdling!

Goosebumps! 😱

So far this seems to be a very well-written Gothic set post-WWII, with a carefully controlled tone/mood and a measured pace. But I well and truly hate the Evil Parent trope, so unless that element turns out to have some nuance and originality to it, you're going to see me posting a lot of grumpy updates here.
