Playing this for the third time to introduce a new player to the game, works perfect as a starting point for D&D.

The 9-year-old got this as a birthday gift, and thus far, the shorter/abbreviated books and rules are way more accessible to beginners than the full book set. I love the addition of cards to help navigate combat, magic items, and quests (easy for the DM, too!) I’ll update again after we get some gameplay and combat under our belts. I’m DMing for a small group of kiddo and dad, both pretty new to tabletop RPGs.
