I have fine Irish family my sister married into. I’ve read about the Troubles and the Easter Uprising of 1916. I really don’t want to read about the civil war because civil wars are the worst wars. (I read about Spain’s earlier this year.) But I know it will help me understand some of the things I still don’t understand. Probably not all.
