Interesting to read after The Secret History (Tartt). It also deals with classics majors, but the main character isn't one, but instead is just friends with them. Professor Medeous is definitely gearing up to be a Julian Morrow type. I wonder if Tartt was inspired by this? It was published a year earlier. Also enjoying the references to Jacobean plays, which Richard Paen specialized in during graduate school. Hmm..
