Status Updates From Being and Nothingness

Casi acabando el libro (con todo el tiempo de dedicación merecido), reafirmo que Sartre y toda la filosofía existencialista me encanta. No obstante, destaco las citas que menos se reconocen a pesar de su extravagancia:
"Sólo para el próximo el ano aparece como orificio."
"El sexo es boca, boca voraz que traga el pene"

Entre otras.

Ay... Cuanta falta hizo Beauvoir.

Pero coincido que
"El hombre es una pasión inútil"

"For to be free is not to choose the historic world in which one arises---which would have no meaning---but to choose oneself in the world whatever this may be."

Rather inspirational, Sartre.

The present, although defined as the moment of existence, reveals its paradox when we realise that even in trying to isolate it or capture it, it vanishes into an infinitesimal instant so small it is impossible to experience it due to its ephemeral nature. Therefore, our perception of the present is inseparable from the past we reflect on and the future we project into!

"Whatever our being may be, it is a choice; and it depends on us to choose ourselves as 'great' or 'noble' or 'base' and 'humiliated.'" (p. 494)

It's slowly getting better, I think, after skipping 350 pages to the important part.

El ser humano "es lo que no es y no es lo que es, es la nihilización del En-sí contingente, en tanto que el sí-mismo de esta nihilización es su huida hacia adelante en dirección del En-sí causa de sí. Now we're getting somewhere.
