The absolute perfect ambiguous ending. Is it myth? Is it legend? I guess we’ll never truly know!

Page 304: I love the explanations given in respect to the original myths. They make sense, and I wish I could fully keep track. They’re kind of brushed over, but I like them better.

I don’t know why, but this manic smile of brotherhood in battle is so fucking awesome.

Wtf why does he have to endure so much fucking tragedy. This is so fucking sad.

I love this idea of places being sentient. Riordan did it really well in Percy Jackson where the maze expanded as they were in it, constantly changing and becoming more dangerous. Asterion being possessive of it makes total sense, as crazy as it sounds.

Makes even more sense reading it in the context of the monsters class. Similar to prisoners being possessive of their cells.

“He felt old—much older than his fifty years, almost like the span of time he was writing about was pressing down on him—and exhausted.”

His origin story is so heartbreaking, but it does to show how strong his character is that he never turned into the villain.

I didn’t remember this at all, but if feels familiar. I know something tragic had to come out of Athens to get him back to Crete. Not crying, but my heart breaks for him.

This also reminds me of the “Romeo and Juliet” fight between Romeo and Tybalt.

I love that of all the outlandish, impossible things in Greek Mythology, the one false one is a dragon.

I just reimagined Theseus as the dark haired tribe son from Brave. It’s so funny to see that even years later, my impressions of how I read don’t change! That means it’s good writing!
