this was the end of something and the beginning of something too. I didn't know what it would be but knew it was wrapped inside of that handstand, her desire to just walk out onto the dying grass and do it without caring if I'd walk away.

We spent our weekends partying at bars called the Clit Club, Milk Bar, and Crazy Nanny's where lesbians were suddenly considered the cool and beautiful people everyone wanted to be around.

I learned to love, to lose, and to live. Living, loving, and dying. A circle unbroken.

In the few photos from that time, I am young, one foot still firmly planted in the backstory of my college days.

No one was rich and no one was poor anymore. We were an Artists Class.

Before there was Juliet, there were the women who showed me the way to her, the roads that I had to walk to meet the people who I needed to meet. There were the friends whose deaths opened the doors to new friends I might not otherwise have ever known. Each door, each friend, each step - bringing me closer to who I was becoming.
