It's pretty interesting to also consider how art forms between sensory modalities differ in politicalness. This book is about visual art, and she names a positive/negative filter through which black art is observed. Applying that to say, music, this still works and both visual art and music are very political. But already a difference in positive/negative is noticeable. Cuisine is even more interesting I feel like.

"It occurred to me then that if one could make a people lose touch with their capacity to create, lose sight of their will and their power to make art, then the work of subjugation, of colonization, is complete. Such work can be undone only by acts of concrete reclamation."
