Okay I think I’m going to need to circle back to this one. I’m not having a good time and I loved the first book too much to DNF this one.

I’m really not feeling it 😑
I’m not here for the big, grumpy, militant type that won’t listen to reason and is a super black and white thinker.
I’m also not here for the impossibly smol, mischievous, witty / bantery heroine type.
So yeah, I just don’t like the main characters ? 🥴

Okay so obviously it’s well-written and engaging so far . . . but I just don’t love our protagonists in this one as much as the first. Aysel and Bashir are very meh to me. I miss my ice queen and my death mage 🥲 (they’re still here, but more like background characters)
