Status Updates From Before, After, and Somebody...

I found ethos but it didn't help me learn anything about my social issues which is bullying, abuse, and drinking. I didn't need the authors credibility.

I choose pathos and it is very effective in the book because it gives a vivid description and it is very detailed. When reading I feel the emotion that the author is giving and I can tell the social issue going on in the book.

When reading the book I ask myself what life as a average person who had a family, enough money and friends to hang out with. I wonder this because the main character is poor, shy and dosen't have many friends.

The best part of my book was when Jerome comes to save Martha from being abused by her dad. Jerome catches the dad hurting Martha and he confronts the dad. This was my favorite part because no one knew what Martha was going through and she is finally able to have someone to talk to and comfort her.

In the book Before, After, and Somebody In Between, I was surprised when Martha, the main character, stole money from the person living upstairs. This surprised me because Marta is a person who has integerty and she will not be shy to stand up and make the right decision. But when she didn't have enough money to pay rent, she stole money and didn't tell anyone.

scuzzy, I chose this because the main character uses this word to describe her classmates. it means- dirt and unpleasent.

I left off on starting chapter 2 and I think in the next chapter, the mom will find out that Martha met a friend who is black, and Martha will get punished because the mom is not okay with that.
