Status Updates From Queensmen

Really enjoying this book.

I'm a particular fan of how Bethany has made generic background characters come to life. Those stereotypical guards that feature in every fantasy novel? Watch out for them. They aren't just mindless drones - they have their own goals, and will go to lengths to achieve them.

Amazingly engaging considering there really isn't an antagonist at this point. There's a kind of nebulous opposing force but no real object to struggle against.

The twist here is a little dubious. Otherwise a good read thus far
