Well done for getting the name of convoy JW.51B correct. Nice to take a bit of a dive into the PQ.17 too as this is my first time looking at it

Bit disappointed to see no mention of the Mark 14 issues in the chapter on Guadalcanal and the Solomons. This chapter was the best opportunity to bring it up and to completely omit it is too much of an oversight in my book

‘Verdun of the Pacific War’ is an amazingly apt name for the Guadalcanal campaign

My opinion of this book has been seriously damaged by a couple glaring mistakes I’ve noticed: with Mawdsley mistaking USS Lexington for Enterpriseon p. 213, and then in the second bank of photos the convoy that the Battle of the Barents Sea takes place around us called JW15B instead of JW51B TWICE! I’m utterly disappointed by this. The section on Midway was stellar though, having studied for my A-level coursework

Nice chapter on the Battle for the Atlantic. Still working up towards the discussion of the IJN which I’m looking forward to because that’s my bread and butter
