Finished "The Gods Will Not be Chained." Tied for favorite of the collection with "Ghost Days!" Great writing, though a little yaddayadda heavy to convey the scifi/expirimental elements. Really enjoyed every element of this story--lovely ideas, Liu!

Finished "Byzantine Empathy." Really cool idea, enjoyed the story telling, but beginning to recognize a pattern in the structuring.

Finished "Thoughts and Prayers" -- stoey about family reflecting on a shooting. Started out strong, fell apart in the middle, then finished strong in the very last segment. Biggest issue with this SS is that I didnt understand what genre I was reading, really. Epistle style? Interview? Knowing that context would have helped me understand how trusting I should be of these different POVs.

Finished "The Reborn." Nothing to say about it really, but I finished it.

Just finished "Maxwell's Demon"!
It was a lovely opportunity to think back to "The Crying of Lot 49." Liu's "Maxwell's Demon" did a great job explaining the thought expiriment, and the way in which the expiriment is weaponized by Akiba and put into practice is super interesting. Always good reads from Liu.
