I'm kind of confused by this magic system in this.
Originally, they said his magic only works when he's touching the person, and that is how it's been most of the time (with him awkwardly trying to touch people to know what they're thinking), but there have also been a few pretty big instances where he's not touching someone and reacts to their thoughts like he heard them.
