Now we've reached the end of the war maybe we'll get more in depth? This is all very bird's eye view still. 🤔

This book is already a pretty short volume, but there is so much repetition going on?? It feels like half of chapter 1 is just restating "this is the paradox at the heart of our nation" over and over again.

The cover is really cool in person: the letters for North/South are overlaid on each other, North in blue, South in red, and the overlay is really striking, where sometimes you look at it and see 'North' yet other times you look at it and only see 'South'. Really nice design.
