Status Updates From A Dark and Starless Forest

The first few chapters felt like an exercise in ticking inclusivity boxes, POC, NB, LGBTQIA+ which if I'd been shown through some back story as opposed to a list of this person is these things, I'd actually have loved.
Thankfully the story itself is really interesting after that so I'm glad I stuck with it! I find myself thinking about it and wanting to get back to the book when I put it down. Much improved!
