"Your character is your destiny". That's the truth. Adam will always be selfish and see the world in shades of how it affects him. I don't think people like that change. It's ingrained. They don't care about others as much as they care about themselves. They put themselves above others, always. I can't stand people like that. AND they can't see it. Great writing. I haven't hated like that in a long time.

Still hating him....He just keeps proving over and over what a selfish loser he is.

This book is good. It has depth. I’m invested in Beth finding her way. The pain she feels is real and so is Adam’s. He’s so selfish. But that’s real too. He can’t think beyond his own needs to see how he’s affecting others. His daughter and MIL say to fight for Beth. I say leave her the hell alone. She doesn’t need a selfish prick in her life, taking up all the oxygen.

Adam is a POS. A selfish A-hole. The reviews say that some are sympathetic to him by the end of the book. I'm curious how the "secrets" he has are going to change my mind when I'm kind of hating him already. He's very ewww.
