Didn’t expect the sex scenes to be this explicit and this romance-y.

Damn, this is really good. I should’ve read it sooner. Hope the ending won’t be too sad.

“I know I can’t stay clean for anyone but myself, but he makes me want to be a better person, if that’s possible, if I’m not so broken that I can’t love, that love can’t heal me. When you meet him, you’ll see why I love him.” 🥹

“What happened between us happened very fast and it didn’t last very long but while it did, I felt something for him I’d never felt for anyone.”
“Which was?”
I put my fork down. “Less alone,” I said. “Even when he wasn’t there. Is that love?”
“Sounds like it to me,” he said quietly.

There was always that moment when I was grappling naked with another man that our bodies veered toward violence; it was part of the excitement of the encounter that these tough, male bodies capable of inflicting injury on each other would, instead, become instruments of pleasure. The line could be very fine.

Thank you, Nicole, for pointing out it was the 80's, it slipped my mind to search for a timeline. I'm not to the point of recommending this yet, but I was sad to not be able to enjoy such an effort of rewriting a story that seems so engaging so far.

The excessive amount of ‘x said’ is what happens when you don’t trust that your characters have their own voice.

Who’s the pretty princess who got the same book twice? ❤️ going back and forth between the editions, this is noticeably better than the first.
