I’m unsure about Sam’s character, he appears like he’s 8 years old not 13/14. This book had a lot of potential and I’m afraid it feels wasted.

Getting more to the point of how it feels for Jason being transgender and Sam struggling to deal with it as a young teenager. Needs more depth

A bit too jumpy, going from one scene to the next very quickly without explaining key things. Ie. Jason telling Sam and his family that he is “Sam’s sister”, and then goes to a new scene without delving into the parents’ reaction or Sam’s immediately. I’m sure they will talk about it later. I do like the concept of explaining transgender in a teen-friendly way
