Status Updates From The Between

Surprise ending - sad - a twist I wasn't expecting.

A very unusual story. Has aspects of sci-fi, romance, suspense, terror, time travel, and mythology. Main characters FALL from one earth to another, and each alternate earth seems to be a nightmare version. these FALLERS called Pathfinders and they are being hunted, by a ruler of one of the worlds of an alternate Earth, who wants to control another place called the 7th and what they think is Eden, paradise, Heaven.

Ana Moon is 17 years old. She thinks someone is following her. Her best friend, Bea, disappears right in front of her - she was grabbed by a monster, a Reaper. She meets Malik, and his covert clan tell her they will find her friend. He tells Ana that she is a Pathfinder, like him. What does that mean? They "Fall" through fault lines in the fabric between worlds. She was a Normal who Fell.
