John Piper is walking through a personal testament on his admiration for the Apostle Paul. He included some rather rudimentary points to the average Christian—from Paul’s miraculous conversion to the physical pain he endured for the Gospel. Piper discussed how the pursuit of happiness was not contradictory with the pursuit of God, and the subsequent result is the love of people. Good and easy read thus far.

*he knew Romans 8:28 was NOT a trite saying, but ACTUAL hope to persevere

*refuses to be angry AT God despite sufferings ordained BY God

*exorbitant love for enemies & people who personally hurt him (this flies in the face of people who cancel “toxic” relationships/cancel culture)

*Paul didn’t minimize his suffering but instead found God’s merciful purpose in the pain

*not a complainer
