Status Updates From Bloodstone (Jon Shannow, #3)

Well now - now that most of the religious gobbledygook is past, this book has become a rather fine read. A building mystery, lots of solid moving parts, compelling characters...so far the best of the last few books.

The extreme fascination and investment in invoking religion and extrapolating the evil "good" men do is often gag worthy and it has only built intensity in this series. This whole is such a destruction of religion that it is obviously intentional. A great staring character wasted in an agonizingly preachy saga.

Already not happy to read this book after reading the back text. But I'm going to finish this series and read all of Gemmell's books.
