This one was pretty good and had some interesting ideas
Initiation (1917)
This was an interesting story but didn’t wind up where I expected.

The Tryst (1917)
A beautifully written little story that was quite sad
Wayfarers (1914)
I can’t decide on this one - I read it three times and I’m still not sure I totally get it

The Glamour of the Snow
I liked this one - although probably more shocking by 1911 standards
The Pikestaffe Case
This was pretty good as well - it took quite a while to get to the point - made me wonder what someone transported from 1914 to present would think of a flat screen tv. It also sheds light on the dangers of mathematics- haha

The Transfer
“It’s hungry, don’t you see? But I know what would make it feel all right.” - creepy coming from a little kid - this one was interesting
The Occupant of the Room
this one was ok - probably scary by 1909 standards - he probably should have looked more closely at the Yelp reviews
The Valley of the Beasts
This was ok (except for the racism in chapter 1) - not quite sure what happened in chapter 3

Touch of Pan - I didn’t get this one & was weird. I read it 3 times and figured I was missing something. A reviewer suggested “Pan as a metaphor for the joyless, hypocritical nature of the English upper class and contrasts it with pure love and sex and nature.” That’s a well thought out analysis. I’m simpler though… I was thinking of George Carlin’s “idiots and maniacs” - Tah-Mayto Tuh-Mahto 🍅😜

I’m starting my annual horror story month way early this year. 🧛♂️🎃👹🧌
What a better day to do so than on a Friday the 13th 🔪 What’s to say it has to be contained in Oct anyway… it’s my tradition and “the rules don’t matter and the points are all made up” 📖 😜
