Arrogant dismissal of financial statistics and endless criticisms of social science methodologies.

I have finished the non-technical introduction.

I’ve reached a point where I can’t push through anymore. I might return to this book somewhere down the line when I’m in need of hearing someone rant about how dumb everyone else is with a couple of equations thrown in.

Taleb is clearly angry at someone… presumably the reader… and randomly throws together undefined statistical terms. He talks about what something is or isn’t for tens of pages before actually defining the thing. Vaguely reminds me of the Jim Carrey movie 23. Extremely disappointed at this point but we’ll keep pushing through for a bit and hope it gets more clear.
